Thick and Rich
I found this product in Marshall’s and really should’ve bought two because it’s overpriced on this website. However, it smelled really good, was pretty think, and made my hair feel awesome. I have 3c/4a/4b hair and it moved through my hair so smoothly. Also made any style I had look a lot neater. Definitely would purchase again. I wish it came in a bigger container and was regularly sold in stores. I hate paying shipping costs.

Close to Perfect
I'm a combination curly, wavy, frizzy. This line has worked best for me of the many SM lines I've tried. My tailbone length hair is usually very dry and easily prone to frizz, split ends, and damage, but since switching to this line even the woman who cuts my hair says my hair looks more healthy. When dried naturally my curls and waves look and feel silky, and when I blow dry my hair is as straight and shiny as it would be if I'd used an iron.
However...I've noticed that it seems to build up over time or something. I also use the masque. Both it and the conditioner sometimes leave my hair feeling weighed down and a bit greasy. The conditioner does this more so than when I use the hair masque after shampooing instead of the conditioner. Perhaps it is because the conditioner is thicker than the masque. I've had to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to counter this effect.
I like the fragrance. It smells like pistachio pudding to me.

I've used half of the bottle, and my conclusion is that it does nothing for my hair. It's a conditioner and helps a bit after I've used a low poo, but other than that it doesn't do much. I've recently found out that my hair is very protein sensitive, and it needs other and more moisture for it to look its best. This product is just.. meh. It moisturises a little, but not nearly enough and not what a conditioner should do. I feel like it doesn't really penetrate or give lasting moisture. And I agree with the others on the smell, but I don't find it unbearable. Also, it does not help with frizz. I found that my hair became more frizzy after using this product. But maybe it's just so so lightweight that it suits other hair types, so it's all trial and error.

This really does soften and detangle. The smell is good-reminds me of butterscotch or candy something. I use this line (except the styling gel- it sucks) with the argan/almond milk line and my hair is loving it.

Gives me Glorious Waves
I used this in combination with the Zanzibar Marine conditioner and leave-in, plus the Jamaican Castor Oil leave-in, and my hair is amazing! I am of Nordic and Celtic descent and have thick, colored, hip-length hair that's 2B, and wants to be 2C but needs a lot of nourishment before it gets there. After my first use of these products, I'm amazed by my hair. My waves are looking amazing, and I'm even seeing wave definition around my part and crown, where my hair is usually completely straight. I don't mind the scent of this product, and will likely try other products from this line.

My waves reappeared!
I have thick, wavy, Jewish, protein-sensitive hair, and this conditioner and shampoo are the only ones I have EVER used that make my hair happy. My hair hates most other SheaMoisture lines and I had almost given up on the brand, but then I found this shampoo and conditioner on amillionswaystoshea.com, gave them a try, and never looked back! I use the shampoo first and then I slather my hair top to bottom with the conditioner, wait 3+ minutes, then wash most of it out with cooler water but not completely. This conditioner gives my hair a beautiful shine and my waves SO much definition. I didn't know how wavy my hair was until I used this and the shampoo! It's miraculous. I dislike the scent - it smells like cake and it is much stronger and sweeter than I would normally prefer - but then again, I don't like the scent of most SheaMoisture products. The results are worth the smell. I am noticing that this line is becoming harder and harder to find in stores and I am worried that it will be discontinued soon. SheaMoisture, please don't get rid of this! Thank you SheaMoisture for developing a product for hair like mine. We wavy girls are rarely acknowledged and we don't get enough products! I recommend this fully to anyone with hair like mine. However, if you have high porosity protein-loving hair, this probably isn't for you.

I love Shea Moisture products and was excited to use this on my 4 yo daughter who has long, thick, curly hair. When I opened the bottle I was taken aback by the smell, but wanted to try it anyway. The product itself works great. It helps with tangles and to defrizz but that SMELL is just awful. It literally reminds me of a deodorizer in a dirty public bathroom (GAG). The smell doesn't wash out of her hair after rinsing either. I cannot use this product because I cannot bear the smell any more. Such a shame

Is this conditioner protein-free? My hair doesn't like protein.
It's not totally protein-free but it has very low protein. My hair hates protein too and it loves this.

Can this be used as a leave in
The Raw Shea & Cupuacu Frizz Defense Conditioner is actually meant to as a rinse out. I would recommend the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In Conditioner. Fortified with certified organic Shea Butter and natural ingredients like apple cider vinegar SheaMoisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Leave-in Conditioner provides nourishing hydration to dry, damaged, over-processed hair which supports hair elasticity and prevents hair breakage as you detangle your curls and coils. The peppermint invigorates hair scalp and leaves you with curls which look and feel healthy and refreshed.

Can you use this as a co-wash conditioner?
Good morning Gisellelemus7
This can be used as a co-wash conditioner as this is a conditioner that should be washed out after applying . If you are looking for a deep conditioning moisture treatment, I would also recommend the Raw Shea & Cupuacu Frizz Defense Hair Masque.

I have baby fine, wavy hair that's flat in the winter and bery grizzy due to the humidity in the summer.
I'm Looking for a product that thickens but will control the frizz. Or two products. I use shea moisture already. Three shampoos and the lotion.
Is there any peppermint oil or any type of mint oils or eucalyptus oil in this product? I am a nursing mother and I have sensitivity to those oils. Thanks!
