Rated 1 out of 5 by naturalista from SMELLS LIKE STRONG GRANNY PERFUME Returned product, it was awful. Despite the natural "essential oil blend" claim, this has straight up synthetic fragrance that STINKS worse than any hair product I've ever tried. Not only that, I had to re-wash my hair the same day after air drying as I normally do, because it left my hair with an oily residue and it looked heavy, dull, frizzy, and smelled stinky.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Vastcat333 from Now this product has protein I have used this product for quite a while, as a rinse out and a leave in conditioner, I was very satisfied with it because it had no protein, my hair loved it. Now it has more alcohol related ingredients and silk protein, my hair does not like protein base conditioner for a leave in. I am so sad this product has changed from what it was. This is the last bottle of this I buy. I hope I can return it to Target where I purchased it .

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stef13 from 2nd ingredient is alcohol I have been a long time customer and religiously purchased their conditioner and shampoo because it keeped my hair shiny and wouldn't aggravate my eczema. About two months ago I started noticing some of their products started changing their ingredients. The change in the ingredients are horrible they dramatically decreased/removed the good ingredients and replaced them with cheap drying alternatives (stearyl alcohol, ceatyl alcohol, olive oil). I am extremely disappointed and will no longer be purchasing their products

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cah276 from Changed formula I’m so frustrated with all the formulas of my favorite Shea Moisture products changing. I noticed immediately with the raw shea butter shampoo because the consistency was so different and dried my hair out so bad, but I bought my current bottle of conditioner before I had to replace my shampoo and the consistency of the new conditioner formula is similar to the old one so I didn’t notice. In the last month or so I broke out with a rash on my neck and arms and I couldn’t figure out what was causing it and didn’t think it could possibly be my hair products since I had been using the same ones for over a year with no previous issues, but now it’s so obvious that something in this new formula is irritating to my skin. I also used to use this as a leave in conditioner and I was finding that I couldn’t do that anymore because it just looked gross and greasy, which I figured was just my skin being oilier than normal. It seems so obvious in hindsight, but I had no reason to think my conditioner’s ingredients had changed because they gave no indication that it had. I wish they had been more up front about the formula changes. I’m really dissapointed because I really loved these products

Rated 1 out of 5 by Penelope from Changed Formula Is Awful Like others, I came to depend on this product. The new formula is totally awful compared to the original and now they have changed the corresponding Treatment ingredients as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Britany from new formula - lost customer I LOVED this entire line. I can't use any protein, so this was my go-to. I knew the whole line didn't have protein and so it was all safe. I'd try other lines or other brands, but this was always my safe home. Now that the conditioner has protein, I won't ever use it again. Almost every other line has protein, so why this one too? They apparently don't need money from people with protein sensitive hair.

Hello I noticed i’m not the first to ask, but when are you guys going to bring back the previous formula? After my hair started getting dry and tangled I hunted down an old version and within 3 days was amazing again. Nothing else works for me!

What happened to the old formula with the “dry damaged hair” on it. I’m guessing it was changed due to profit margines. I’m not sure there is any other reason to change perfection. I would gladly pay more for somthing no other company makes!

I've been using this conditioner on my daughters hair for 4yrs, it's my go to product bc it protein free, as she is protein sensitive! Why would Shea Moisture change the formula to have 2 different protein? If it's broke don't fix it!

"Sea Kelp seals and smoothes hair cuticles". All coloring conditions are acidic to close the cuticles & seal color in & this one is the one that's included in you coloring box. So, can I use it regularly in between colorings or it will damage my hair?
This product is color-safe and sulfate-free, it is perfectly safe to use with color-treated hair!
