Rated 1 out of 5 by from I expected better results considering the price This product smells good. I used the restorative shampoo prior to the masque. After I shampoo, I mixed the masque with a small amount hair mayonnaise and olive oil. I then put the mix into the microwave for a few seconds. I separated my hair into 4 parts and worked the mix from root to tip making sure to cover all areas. Went under the dryer for 30 minutes and my hair came out soft. When I rinse it out, my hair became tangled so bad and pieces of my hair were coming out more than usual. I'm not pleased and will not buy again after its done. I bought a small size container, not as big as this one in the picture. Im going to try another deep conditioner hair mayonnaise next weekend to see if I get the same or different. result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it but... I started using it during my transition now I've big choped I'm still using it and it work perfectly for my hair. I really love the texture and my hair is so detangle after using it. However now that my hair is fully natural I still have to struggle with dryness once my hair is not anymore soak so Im considering trying another product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Drying for my transitioning hair I bought this mask when I started transitioning since I'd read so many good reviews about Shea Moisture products. I was very disappointed the first time I used it but thought I could give it a next try mixing it with olive oil and putting my hair in a warm towel: it didn't work. I've been reading and trying to find other reviews to see if it works better in other conditions but honestly I'm scared to try it again. Indeed I'm scared of shea moisture products now. I'm waiting for my natural hair to grow a bit more to see if it gets any better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nourishing This is a very moisturizing conditioner that's ideal for damaged or very dry hair. It doesn't have a lot of slip, but i helped heal my thick 3a/3b hair. The only thing is that I don't like that this conditioner has Japanese honeysuckle in it which can be a hormone disrupter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic in a pot I love methosulfate masks but most of the time, I need something that is an original cream. Water/glycerine, oils and emulsifier. This mask is a miracle. It is the only thing EVER to seal in moisture, real moisture to my low porosity hair.

Hello, I am at the beginning phases of transitioning my hair (2 1/2 months without relaxer). I am looking for something that I can keep my scalp moisturized and keep my hair strong through the transition. Can I grease my scalp with this masque?

Asked by: Manda
I would advice not. Rather, you can do hot oil treatments using a combination of your preferred hair oils and then use the masque for your ***hair. The oil treatments should help improve your dry scalp condition. *** emphasis

Is protein in the Shea butter deep treatment masque . It made my hair explode to double the size and made it dry and hard

Asked by: DeeDee
DeeDee I don't know if you'll see this since it's been months since you asked this question.  Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque has Panthanol listed as an ingredient which is a humectant.  Humectants draw in moisture so if your hair is medium or high porosity it is already full of moisture and the panthanol would draw in more moisture which may have caused the problem.  To correct high porosity hair you should use products with protein as an ingredient and the Shea Butter is protein free.  I hope if you read this it helps.

I have 3c curls and very fine and low porosity hair. I find it difficult to get volume to my hair. My hair gets dry the 3rd day after washing. Will this product work for me?

Asked by: Snoopy68
Hi Snoopy68 We have a dedicated line that helps those with low porosity hair - "Low Porosity Protein Free". This line has a shampoo, conditioner and detangler. I would recommend trying this collection and also following up with a Raw Shea Butter masque once a week for deep treatment and hydration.

Ok, so, I have 4c hair and I have been recently using the low porosity hair products mixed with the manuka line. Would the Shea line work with me? My hair gets dry and brittle quickly (not since using low po and manuka) but they arent avail in my city.

Asked by: Dessy B
Hi Dessy B Yes, absolutely. The Raw Shea Butter line is excellent for dry hair. Moisturizes and repairs lifeless dry, damaged or over-processed natural hair. Intensive care, healing treatments and styling aids perfect for transitioning chemically treated hair to healthy natural hair. I would also recommend the Jamaican Black Castor Oil line, which strengthens, fortifies and renews, while supporting healthy growth for all hair types, including chemically treated, heat styled, natural and transitioning. Restores dry, brittle, damaged hair with a special blend of nourishing, natural, certified organic and ethically sourced ingredients.
