Rated 5 out of 5 by NY2DC from My Go-To Product I use this everyday to lay down my edges and keep frizz at bay...and it works. It keeps my hair shiny (not greasy) all day long. Before I started using this product, I used Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus Curly Gel Souffle every other day to keep frizz down..this has been put to the side. In terms of residue, I tend to use a different product underneath this lacquer. So, there will be residue because of the other products. When my hair is clean and I use this, I get no white residue. Since I use this everyday, I spritz some water to refresh and then use this lacquer. I keep it in the refrigerator to keep it solid, when its completely liquid, it is less effective (at least for me). This 4 oz jar lasted me two months. I have 4b/4c hair and this keeps it manageable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by lechey from Not good The formula that I bought looks more watery than the one I saw on youtube. I tried it and it looked very nice when I first put it on. At the end of the day my edges are not laid and it looks like there is some build up. Will be returning this product back to the store and will be trying the Mielle Organics edge gel

Rated 5 out of 5 by lee lee from Great for "greasing" the scalp and twist outs Had this laying around thinking it was only good for edges and styles when you had time to tie down with a scarf while it dries. Nope. Read the jar and decided the ingredients would be good for the scalp, add moisture and seal once it dries. I was right. After applying to my scalp I went through and did a twist out without having to re-wet my hair. I left it twisted for a full day before taking it out and it was the best twist out ever. Lasted for days and stayed moisturized as well. I am concerned by the recent question about the changes in consistency. I had that same issue with a different Shea Moisture product and received the same answer. I hope this hasn't changed because I am looking forward to my next jar.

Is this product gluten free? (E.g. Maltodextrin)
Hi Gigibnappy, Maltodextrin is a starch with none of the wheat proteins so it does not act in the same way as gluten ingredients. This product does not contain any gluten ingredients, When checking a product, you will want to look for wheat, oats, barley, spelt and rye.

Is this good for 360 waves? Looking for something to help lay my curls down and enhance my waves. Open to any other recommendations in your line. Thanks!
Hi, This product is a low-residue gel that may work for 360 waves, but we recommend going with a lighter cream for the best results. Our Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Transitioning Milk would be a great option to keep hair hydrated and help in styling for 360 waves.

Laydown laquer purchssed at Walmart Murfreesboro TN lastweek is runny. (Previous purchase product was firm consistancy. Loved it) Plesse advise as to the change in formulating or should I return product
Hi Sandra, Our products are formulated with natural and certified organic ingredients. Due to the nature of these ingredients, the color, texture and scent may differ from batch to batch. This is due to when the ingredients are harvested as weather, soil conditions, and other factors may alter the ingredients. The Jojoba Oil & Ucuuba Butter Laydown Laquer may have a thicker gel consistency or a looser liquid consistency but these are all natural states for this product and will still provide the same nourishing benefits and hold when styling.
