Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product Ever I have been buying different products for my hair lately trying to find something better I can stick with. I chose this one and it left a heavy, sticky, waxy, crunchy coating on my hair. I could not brush through it at all and it left my hair looking like I just got out of the shower with wet hair all day. It also left a waxy coating on my shoulders and neck. NOT NATURAL LOOKING. I will be returning to the retailer asap.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Used to love it I first started using this product 3 years ago when I went natural. Loved It! Bought a jar recently and it is not the same. It used to be the consistency of a gel now it like snot. It's messy, runny and sticky. It used to dry shiny now it's very dull. Please go back to the old recipe!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE So I bought this product 3 days ago and I used it this morning. I let my hair air dry overnight with the product in my hair. This morning I woke up with crunchy and disgusting hair. WORST PRODUCT EVER! DO NOT BUY!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst products ever! I darn near bought every curly hair product that Shea Moisture sells. None have been the absolute greatest but this one is by far the worst! I used it in my 4yr old's hair with a twist out and it left his hair disgustingly oily. I even tried it with a comb out AND for a third time with me blow drying his hair & it still left the same oily effect! Don't waste your money unless you're into the whole oily hair thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product I’ve tried from Shea Moisture I usually LOVE Shea Moisture products, but this one is HORRIBLE. I don’t know if the texture of this product is supposed to be gritty or not, but the container I got has hard grit in it and leaves the grit in my hair even after it’s dry!!! $13 for something that is this useless is a waste of $$. Will be returning this tub and will NEVER use again. This is NOT what I expected from a Shea Moisture product. I am very very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I found Gold! I LOVE my curls again! I finally found a product that works for my hair. I'm Hispanic Mexican/Panamanian. I got the Caribbean hair going on. I have tried so many products and nothing has come close, it either left it hard or frizzy. I actually found this product by accident, I was fed up and wanted to try something new. Thank you Shea Moisture! I have fell in love with my curly hair again. If your Hispanic with the same hair type...please.. please try this product, as soon as I scrunch my hair you can see the curls. Every hair type is different so maybe this product is not for them. But I love the way my hair is now, never going back. I can actually feel confident walking out the door with my hair damp and knowing my hair is going to be fabulous. I live in Florida where it's always humid and my hair never looked so Good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it but there are some minor details The first product that I used from the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl enhancing Smoothie by Shea moisture, that product is pretty good but when I ran out of it I decided to try the Coconut, and Hibiscus Gel souffle because people said that it would work well for my hair type. The Souffle worked wonders for my hair, it's my favorite product to use. The souffle comes in a 12 oz container, a good amount to last me about 2-4 months. This product is made to moisturize, define and protect your curls, and it does just that. It contains natural ingredients such as coconut oil and Agave nectar that help nourish and strengthen your hair and keep your curls defined. From my personal experience with the product I believe that it works really well. The product feels lightweight, controls and defines my curls, and makes my hair feel soft and silky. When I apply the product to my hair after taking a shower it feels as though I am just applying the smoothie but more liquidy and more lightweight. I only apply a small amount on sections and comb through the hair, when applied little excess product comes on the comb. The product alone does a good job at defining my curls alone, but it works better if used in a twist out and braid out. Once my hair is dry (usually the next day) my curls are nice and defined in its natural shape from the root to my ends. The product leaves my hair feeling silky and soft even though it's a gel based product. There are only a couple minor things that I think could be changed such as, the little bit of a greasy feeling when you apply the product, slightest bit of dandruff, and the product leaves my skin a little greasy even after washing my hands. The product does leave my hair a little greasy after applying it, making it a little slippery to work with. Once the product is dry it leaves my curls looking good but throughout the day little bits of dandruff start to appear. Finally, because the product is gel based it leaves my hands feeling greasy and oily after applying and hard to wash off. Overall this product is great for if you want your curls to be nice and defined but a little messy to work with, The product is easy to apply feels lightweight and nourishes your hair at the same time. The product is a natural formula with no harsh chemicals that will damage your hair. The product does leave a little bit of dandruff but overall it is a good product if you are looking to define your curls and nourish them for curly or wavy hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, Love, Love, Love!! Perfect for coils. I must admit when I first tried this product I did a twist out. It was heavy and a bit greasy. But once I actually coiled my hair with it I fell in love. It has the perfect slip especially if you're doing finger coils. Yes, it's sticky but it has agave and sugar cane extract. I feel as though it helped with my hair growth as well. I use this and a little bit of styling gel and I'm set to go. Definitely a must if you're coiling your hair ladies and gents.

Is there a product to enhance my 4c natural curl and do I use the curling gel shuttle's also

Asked by: 4163
Our Coconut & Hibiscus line would be a great option to help define curls for your hair type. We recommend checking out our Curl Enhancing Smoothie or our Curl & Style Milk for something with a light hold and to add moisture while also reducing frizz. The Curling Gel Souffle will provide a stronger hold for hair and leave hair shiny and in place when styling.

What is the difference between the curl enhancing smoothie and the curling  gel soufflé and how do you use them?

Asked by: Reese
Our Curl Enhancing Smoothie is a creamy styler made to moisturize, reduce frizz, and provide a light hold to curls to keep them bouncy and full. Our Curling Gel Souffle is a gel styler made to reduce frizz, provide a stronger hold, and add shine to hair. Both can be used by applying a small amount to a section of hair to aid in styling.

I have an almost 2 year old daughter, her hair has gone from wavy to open curls. What can I use to define and keep her curls? We're currently using Raw Shea/Argan Oil baby shampoo.

Asked by: Sara94
We recommend checking out our Coconut & Hibiscus Kids haircare line which can define curls with our Curl Defining Butter Cream or Extra-Moisturizing Detangler. The Coconut & Hibiscus line would also be a great option to define curls, the Curl & Style Milk would provide moisture and definition to curls without weighing curls down.

Hello I was thinking of buying a product (I haven't tried them before) I'm medium/high porosity and 2C/3A pattern So, I want to know which product is better to get definition, freeze control, hold and last during all day. Thank you

Asked by: Mariana21
Hi, We recommend going with a product like our Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle as it will provide frizz control, lasting hold, and will define curls with help from key ingredients such as coconut oil and flax seed oil. This product can be combined with any of the other products in this line for additional moisture.

Please clarify how is one to use this product when it is in its jello form. This is my second time purchasing this product, the first time it was pliable and ease to emulsify in my hands. How do I liquify it?

Asked by: LovelySue
Cmh 1027, I want to thank you for answering this question, I saw a lot of comments about how to apply it and avoid the sticky or honey finish on the hair, and your answer save me because the first time I bought the product it was liquify and now it is like jello. I´m from México so I bought like 5 jars when I found them in my country and was so sad because it was a different consistency and it left my hair sticky. I used it like you explained it, I'm very very happy with your comment, it worked perfectly for me!!
