I can see why a lot of people might have a negative review.
I have pin straight hair(caucasian hair) That gets an extremely oily scalp but very dry ends.
I use this co wash every other day. And on the days i dont use it i shampoo and condition. Now i see this line is for curly hair but it works for my straight hair.
It moisturizes the ends enough and cleans my scalp VERY well.
I give it a 5 for me. But maybe it should be reformulated to fit a curly girls needs ( i can use any co wash and not have a problem )
The fragrance doesnt smell anything like the other ones from this line. It smells like bath and body works coconut lime verbana is the best way to describe it.

tested this product free via influenster
let me start out by saying the packaging for the hibiscus and coconut is really cute! I love the colors they picked. I received the collection of the hibiscus and coconut to try out for free through Influenster. I liked how the conditioner smelled, but as for the body wash, I felt like it should have been more coconutty rather that the hibiscus. Anyways, I liked all the products, just not enough for me to purchase anything.

Didn't expect much from this products since ive tried many other brands and just do the same as any other conditioner, but this product is the exception!! Definetly saw a difference right after using this product, it left my hair exceptionally moisturized and soft, left my hair smelling great, fell in love with this brand and this product specifically, will continue to use for as long as I can! thank you Shea Moisture for your products, I tested this product for free

Had high hopes for this.
Sadly this is the first product in this line that I have come across that I just didn't like. As reference, I have naturally kinky curly Caucasian hair to my waist. Firstly, it smells nothing like the other coconut hibiscus line. Has a very toxic smell. I had to Re wash. Secondly there is no slip in it, my hair was difficult to comb and that's not the norm. I will stick with the original shampoo and conditioner which I love.

This co-wash does do some cleansing (I suspect because it has kaolin clay), but it does not have slip and is hard to work though my 3a/3b thick low porosity curls. This is better than the co-wash from the Professional line in that it is somewhat cleansing and provides a little moisture.

Love at first Use
'Wow' is the one word summation I have of this product. I have 3b, low porosity, fine, color treated, dry, curly hair and this co-wash worked wonders! For weeks now I have been trying to figure out what was going wrong with my hair and finally found the right products! I am so excited to finally have soft and healthy hair especially being chemically treated blonde and curly! It is very moisturizing and makes you hair feel really soft in the shower, it doesn't lather, obviously, which was different for me, but it definitely does an amazing job cleaning despite no lather. Dont just take my word for it, TRY IT!!!!!

Hi, I really love your products! Can you please tell me what the difference is between a co-wash shampoo and a regular wash shampoo? Also, when do I use one vs. the other? Thank you!!
A Co-wash is used in between washes to gently cleanse hair without stripping it of your natural oils like a regular shampoo would. This is recommended for curly hair to avoid breakage, dryness, or buildup.

Can someone explain how/when to use this? do i not shampoo at all? do i use this first, then a conditioner? conditioner, than co-wash? thank you.
Hi S Shelley,
A co-wash would be used in between your wash day regimen. This product would be used by itself in place of a shampoo and conditioner. Massage in for 3 to 5 minutes working from root to ends. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Repeat as needed.
