Not great for me
This is going to be a long review....maybe this product line just didnt work for me, but I ONLY got it because the old line is not obtainable anymore...
I tried this product along with the conditioner in place of their low porosity line which I can not find anywhere anymore. I'm familiar with Shea Moisture products and my hair so I thought this would be a similar replacement (I have Medium Length 4B-C Kinky hair).....while not a terrible product, it didn't do it for me. The TLDR is that it left my hair soft with some noticeable coils, but it didn't leave my hair feeling clean, refreshed, light and moisture as the other line. If you would like to know more read on...
The Shampoo claims to clean well which is what low porosity hair needs every week or two in order to get rid of product buildup. The Low porosity line shampoo did this well by making the hair feel extremely clean to the touch yet soft and light. The shampoo from this line however, does leave the hair soft but I still felt build up from all the leave in I used a week prior. It shampoo has a slight gritty feel but it got washed out anyway.
The conditioner from the low porosity line made it very easy to comb/detangle and was super light. I actually did like the conditioner from this line a little more than the other but only because it can be used as a leave in, and was light enough to make me believe so. If the other line had a 2-step leave in conditioner ( as in only needing 2 products and not 3) as well, that would be awesome, but then again the other line's separate leave in was good which I used and adored.
Shea Moisture, I know you are a growing company and after looking at reviews from your newer products, please don't replace something that is already good. It looks like you are losing customers. You had a niche and now it seems like you are trying to create these work-for-all lines, but stick to specific lines like high and low porosity/damaged/texture hair for the people who relied on your quality to get them through the days. It is not like you are the most affordable out there. I could go back to my old cheaper products but what you had was a good thing. /rantover
