Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ms. I love this shampoo! I have a dry and oily scalp. I also have very fine, thin and dry hair. This, along with the Balancing conditioner have been Amazing for me. My scalp instantly feels good after using it. My dermatitis instantly dissapears and my hair and scalp look and feel nice. Recently I've been unable to find these products. They have been replaced by the dandruff control products which are absolutely horrible for me and make my issues worse. I have been trying product after product since and now I'm ordering this online. I'm sure the dandruff control works great for some people, but the deep cleansing is the one for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NEW INGREDIENTS, NO NOTICE I just bought a new bottle which I will be returning on tomorrow. The inhredients are different. I compared to my old bottle, when I noticed the pacakge and color opaqueness was different than the 50+ bottles thatI have purchased in the past. The ingredients listed here match my former bottle. The new bottlehas more chemicals in it, which I am not comfortable with putting on my hair. There was not even any notification that the formula was COMPLETELY changing. Disappointed, Shea Moisture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely for dandruff I personally don''t use this shampoo since I don''t personally suffer from a dry flaking scalp, but I did grab it for my boyfriend. He gets really bad dandruff, so I thought why not? Firstly, I can''t stand the smell. It has a sickly sweet bubblegum like smell. Or I think a more accurate description would be banana? But not the good smelling kind. Lol Despite that, I care most for results, and it has helped a ton with his dandruff. He has tried other products, which haven''t worked. With this particular shampoo he doesn''t have to shampoo as often, and he doesn''t have to worry about flakes flying everywhere at any given moment. Eventually the smell does fade, so 4 stars for this one since it''s otherwise great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is good stuff! I''ve had scalp eczema for over a year, my scalp would get extremely itchy, flaky and in bad times, I would also get wet eczema. Nothing did the trick, not even steroids lotions or the coal tar shampoo from Neutrogena. This miracle shampoo cleared my scalp in just a week, no more flakes, no more wounds and all this with natural ingredients! I give it 4 stars because I still get itchy scalp sometimes but it really led to great results overall!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought the African black soap system. I bought it because I have excema really bad which causes my scalp to burn whenever I wash it and it also itches a lot. I had hopes that the African black soap shampoo would relieve those symptoms. When I used the shampoo my hair immediately felt dry, stripped, and brittle. My hair started to burn about 5 minutes after rinsing the shampoo out of my hair. It burned so bad to the point that I was worried for my scalp and hair. I had to was my hair again with the shea moisture raw shea butter shampoo which I always use and works great on my hair. My hair stopped burning a little but it still burned. I''m very disappointed that a product specifically for relieving the symptoms of excema made the symptoms worse. Will not be buying it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major Bummer I wish I liked this shampoo. I wanted to like it so bad, and as someone with itchy, dry scalp I have been searching for a natural alternative to the chemical-filled dandruff shampoos currently on the market. But when I went to lather up with this stuff, it stuck right in one spot on my scalp. There was no lather, no bubbles, and it didn't spread through my relatively thin hair. It was kind of like putting molasses on my scalp. It didn't wash out well either, it left me with a dirty feeling in my hair. I even got a haircut and tried it again, hoping that a shorter length would improve outcome, but I ended up washing it out with my other shampoo because I couldn't stand the feeling. So disappointed in this shampoo and conditioner (especially considering that it cost so much for just a few uses!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CLEARED MY DANDRUFF, COMPLETELY WORTH THE BUY Wow, I've never been more happy with a product. I suffered from horrible dandruff for a few years, I tried everything and it just wouldn't clear up. Happened to come across this product about a year ago and it was a miracle worker. About a week in dandruff cleared up almost completely. As the next week passed, it disappeared. My head feels so much healthier and cleaner, and it's all natural too. My only slight complaint is that the formula is a little bit runny, but I honestly don't mind it so much since it works like magic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning!! I wish someone would have told me on here how rough this shampoo is. I seen a couple reviews about how it made their hair feel stripped afterward, but that is an understatement. This shampoo might remove dandruff, dermatitis, or psoriasis. But it most definitely removes your moisture, your curls, your waves and tresses. Honey, lets just say it took my tresses away. I went from tracy ellis ross to Diana Ross on the wiz. My hair shriveled up terribly and i had tangles galore. Everyone knows that natural black girls hair and tangles dont mix...Spend $10 on this shampoo, and you will need $40 more for conditioner to get the tangles out. I left the african masque conditioner mixed with pure henna on my hair for four hours after using this shampoo. The conditioner removed my tangles, (and yes i had to use half the jar of conditioner becuz the tangles were so bad) but my curl pattern was still gone and my hair was horrible. Im not feeling this shampoo at all. It reminds me of any clarifying shampoo that can remove buildup except way more harsh. If you're ready to say goodbye to ur tresses and deal with mass detangling. Go for it. Or try a moisturizing shampoo right behind it.. good luck.. I wont use it again
